Buying artwork

Are you interested in one of my paintings? You can send me a message through the contact form, with the title of the artwork. I will check whether it is still available. I participate in exhibitions regularly and also sell my art through other channels, so it’s always possible it’s sold already. I try to keep my website up-to-date so the chance that this happens is very small.

The larger paintings (min. 40x40cm) are delivered with a certificate of authenticity, signed by me. Please note: I have tried to show the paintings as accurately as possible. However slight colour variations may exist between the actual painting and the pictures featured on your monitor.

Shipping costs

Shipping costs differ greatly depending on where it needs to be sent. That's why I'm not selling artwork straight from this website. If you're interested in purchasing something,  just send me an email where you live and which product you’re interested in and I will find out the costs for you. It also depends on whether you buy one or more products, since I combine shipping. You can contact me here. Note: buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. I'm not responsible for delays due to customs.

Hanging paintings

My paintings are all ready to hang. The sides are painted so there is no need for a frame (although you can frame it if you prefer). The bigger ones have a hanging system in place, the small ones (20x20cm and smaller) don’t. It’s not much use putting a hook on there, since they hang perfectly straight against the wall when you just hang them over a small nail.

The paintings on paper are sold WITHOUT a frame. They fit into every frame that’s minimum 21x30cm. It’s often nice to put it in a slightly larger frame, with a colourful border around it.

All my paintings are sealed with several coats of matte varnish for protection. It’s easy to clean them with a soft dry cloth. Take care not to hang them fully exposed to sunshine all day, or in a damp dark place. This can damage the artworks.

Mosaics

My mosaics have a base of MDF or wood. I use selfmade claypieces as well as commercial tiles, usually glass tiles. Every mosaic has one tile with my artist name on there. These mosaics are truly one-of-a-kind pieces, since most or all tiles are handmade. Because of the fragility of these mosaics, I prefer not to sell them online, because the shipping costs will more than likely exceed the cost of the mosaic. However, if you’re interested in purchasing one of my mosaics, please contact me and I will find out the shipping costs for you. Please keep in mind that I will have to add extra insurance because of the fragility of these items.

Prints

I sell prints of my paintings and drawings through Print-on-Demand-shops (see “shops”). This means it’ll only be printed when someone puts an order in. For this I work together with Redbubble, Lulu (calendars) and Society6. Most print-products are made by local companies, which means the shipping will be cheaper and less time-consuming, and the ecological footprint will be smaller. Every painting you see on this website can be made into a print. Also the paintings that have been sold (except in the case of commissions). I can even take just a part of a painting to make a print from, provided that the painting is large enough to make a quality print. If you’d like a print that is not in one of my shops yet, please contact me and I will put it up for sale for you.

Commissions

Because I work mostly intuitively it’s not evident to do commissions. But I will look at what’s possible if you have a certain idea, or if you’re interested in a painting that has already been sold. This is also possible for mosaics. You can contact me here.

Returns

It has given me great pleasure to make my artwork, and I want you to enjoy it too. In case you’re not happy with your purchase, please contact me within 2 weeks of reception through the contact form on this website. The artwork needs to be returned in the original (or similar, just as sturdy) packaging. After I’ve received it in good condition and without damage I will refund the purchase amount minus the shipping costs within a week. The return shipping is paid by you. If the artwork, for whichever reason, arrives damaged at my place, there will be no refund.

What if the artwork is damaged when you receive it? All artwork is packed with the greatest care so it should be fine. In case there is some damage please contact me within 3 days of receiving it, with clear pictures of the damage. I will let you know how to return it. After I’ve received the damaged work I will refund you the full purchase price and shipping costs.
